​The Beaver (Sal) and The Canada Goose are part of a series of graphite drawings that explore the theme of empathy, by manipulating symbolic animals associated with Canadian national identity. When I twist, break, and infest these animals, I explore my ability to empathize for these creatures; and I wonder if as a greater society, we have become desensitized to the suffering of the natural world.
